Rick Petrocelly from The Olive Tap Manitou Springs and Krista Witiak from Colorado Springs Fox KKRM Station, discuss and taste new Fall Flavors of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

Spice up your kitchen this fall with delicious balsamic vinegars from The Olive Tap. Newer, aged Balsamic Vinegars include Mission Fig, Pear, Bourbon Maple and Granny Smith Apple (see Youtube on More Fall Flavors from The Olive Tap)!

One of the first new products is Mission Fig Balsamic Vinegar and it is paired up with Sorrento Orange Olive Oil on a fresh Kale Salad.

Mission Fig Balsamic Vinegar

Taste Profile: From a new producer, our new Mission Fig Balsamic Vinegar takes the inherent complexity of aged balsamic vinegar and enriches it with the sweetness and warmth of sun-ripened figs, resulting in a balsamic vinegar that transcends the ordinary. This dense, balsamic vinegar exhibits a mild and mellow fig flavor with less “bite” due to a lower acid content.  Not too sweet and not too tart, it can be paired with your favorite of The Olive Tap’s Extra Virgin Olive Oils.

Blood Orange Olive OIl

Taste Profile: Blood Oranges form the basis for this delicious infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Blood Oranges are renowned for their unique flavor profile featuring bright citrus flavors accented by subtle raspberry-like notes. If you are a fan of Oranges, and like to add their intensity to your recipes, you will surely appreciate the heat resistance and durability of flavor you will get with our Blood Orange Olive Oil.

Pear White Balsamic Vinegar

The next new product, is excellent without oil, Pear Balsamic Vinegar. Rick goes on to explain how to layer salads (e.g. adding Pears) to accenture flavor and textures. Rick's "Tap's Tip" is how many Balsamic Vinegars for "salad dressings" can be served without Olive Oil due to the complexity of the balsamic vinegar flavors.

Taste Profile: The bright clean taste of fresh pears and a premium white balsamic vinegar come together to form the most perfectly flavored Pear Balsamic Vinegar we have ever tasted! One taste and we're sure you will agree. It is fantastic!

Rick also highlights one of our favorite fall recipes, Roasted Butternut Squash. Oh yes, oh yes, Krista states once tasting the Butternut Squash with Bourbon Maple Balsamic Vinegar and goes on to explain how the flavor can be changed by using different balsamic vinegars.
